I know, I know….I’m obsessing. It’s kinda what I do.
Some people gamble, some do drugs, others drink. I fixate on planners.
If you read this and this, you know my current infatuation is on disc bound notebooks and planner systems. Levenger Circa now, to be precise.
Today, in a fit of pre-holiday expedited free shipping, more goodies from Levenger arrived. Unlike my eBay score, this one is the real deal.
This shot does not do the color justice. It is definitely more teal than plain old blue.
Now for the interior…
The insides of the Fold Over Circa seem to be pretty standard, with 2 card slots and one full length slip pocket behind them in the front, and nothing but a pen loop in the back.
As you can see above, it also has a nice Dune contrast stitching.
Now for the discs. I went out on a limb and ordered Kyoto discs for it. Here is the description of the color from the Levenger website:
“Kyoto resin with touches of turquoise, lavender, espresso and caramel”
I was skeptical at first, but figured I’d try them out. After all, I could always return them if I didn’t like them, and I already had a set of the Silver aluminum discs on hand to take their place.
And finally, installed.

These are actually 1.5″ discs. I meant to order 1″, but that’s what you get for rushing to do something on your lunch break.
They look a lot cooler in person, but tell me…which do you prefer, the Kyoto discs or Silver aluminum?
Those last two photos you just looked at are actually great representations of the true color of the cover.
Here’s another look at the Silver aluminum discs to help you make up your mind.
What I’m asking is not whether or not you like the Kyoto discs…because I do like them (they look fantastic with the Chestnut used Circa from yesterday too by the way), what I’m asking is which you like better with this Teal cover.
Keep in mind that ultimately this Circa will have 1″ discs either way. I will need to do an exchange for the 1″ Kyoto’s, but may wait until after the holidays to do it, simply because I wouldn’t go to the Post Office two weeks before Christmas even if my very life depended on it.
I am extremely impressed with Levenger products so far. Both the leather covers and the rings are impeccably put together. The stitching on both the new and used Circa’s are tight, even and flawless. The discs are infinitely better crafted than the plastic ones from either Arc or Martha Stewart (which both show seaming and unevenness here and there).
So there you have it! Chime in below to let me know which discs you like in this Teal blue beauty……………………………………….

I’m loving these Circa posts – shopping vicariously through you for the most part, except for rushing out to Staples to buy Martha Stewart and Arc stuff (I already have the bomber jacket Circa, among others – and the kyoto discs). So… which discs… I love the Kyoto, but I think my first preference is the teal aluminum ones – which I’m guessing they don’t make in 1″. Keep us all posted!

My vote is for the Kyoto discs. I have a Levenger pen in that color so I know just how beautiful they must be!

@claudia:…actually, they do make the teal ones in 1″. you do realize that before this is over i’m gonna have ’em all, right?! lol! oooooooh, the bomber jacket! how is it? what is the leather like? what about the plaid interior? i would have ordered that one except i am not a fan of plaid….
@amy: i just saw that pen in the catalog today and decided i am going to pick up the kyoto pen for myself for my birthday (not until march though, which sucks). how do the levenger pens write?

I love the teal with the silver, and the kyoto with the brown. I think you should shoot a video on your set up- I don’t see any ‘what’s in my levenger’ videos on youtube 🙂

I love the teal cover (and that gorgeous light interior) AND I think the Kyoto discs look great with it! I vote for the Kyoto.

Should we even bother voting, since we should all know by now that you’ll end up with all of them? Heck, you could even alternate Kyoto and aluminum and have the best of both worlds 😉
Seriously though, I’m having fun exploring the circas through you!

Wow – love the teal !!! With the Kyoto discs it is just beautiful, with the other discs it is also stunning, but not as retro 🙂

I am a fan of the Kyoto discs with the Teal cover. All of my covers are purple and I’m still using the plain black discs. Maybe I should venture out.

I love the look of the teal binder and think the aluminium discs with the teal and the patterned ones with the brown cover. But as others have said, you can easily chop and change!

Can you post a picture of the entire thing with the Kyoto buttons?

thank you all for your wonderful comments about my newfound love, the circa system! right now i do have the kyoto discs on the chestnut cover, and the stainless ones with the teal. but i admit to changing them around way more than i should, lol! i think i am just in love with those kyoto discs and think they add a little something’ somethin’ to both covers.
@bridgett: i think you should totally venture out! pick up some pretty new discs as a holiday present to yourself : ) something new & different for 2013 perhaps!
@kristin: which cover did you want to see all set up with the kyoto discs, the teal or the chestnut? i’d be happy to oblige!!

Great blog. I have this Levenger in a letter size, I used the Aurora disks which look fabulous. If and when you ever get tired of this, i’d love to buy it! I’m serious!
I’d like to have both sizes.
